Hmm actually the Maldives is not quite bad for a bit of stargazing as well. When I go there, I often walk out to the far end of the little island where there's a big stretch of sandy beach and just lie down and look up. No lights around, no clouds a wonderful sea breeze. And I look out for lots of shooting stars! :) Quite a nice experience! And yeah, I do wish upon the shooting stars... Heh. :)
